What we build
Walls, patios, and stone
Three kinds of hardscape shape most metro Atlanta properties, and we build all three as part of the wider landscape.

Retaining walls
Segmental block and natural-stone walls that hold a slope, carve usable terraces out of a grade, and keep soil and water where they belong. Built on a proper base with the backfill and drainage that let a wall stand for decades instead of leaning after a few wet seasons.

Paver patios and walkways
Interlocking paver patios, walkways, and driveways laid on a compacted aggregate base with tight, swept joints. An outdoor room or a path that stands up to Georgia weather and everyday traffic, and that can be lifted and reset if it ever needs to be.

Flagstone
Natural flagstone patios, walks, and steppers for a softer, organic look, either dry-laid in a stone-dust setting bed or mortared over a base. The irregular character and color that only real stone gives a landscape.
How it is built
The build process
Good hardscape is decided below the surface. This is the sequence that makes a patio or wall last.
- Layout and design
We plan the shape, the grade, and the material together with the rest of the landscape, then mark the project out on the ground so you can see it before we dig.
- Excavation and base
The real work of hardscape is under the surface. We excavate, compact a proper aggregate base, and build in drainage, because a patio or wall is only as sound as what it sits on.
- Installation
Walls are stacked, reinforced, and backfilled; pavers and stone are set, cut to fit, and locked in. This is where craftsmanship shows, in tight joints, true lines, and clean cuts.
- Finishing and cleanup
Edges are restrained, joints are swept and sealed where it helps, the site is cleaned, and the surrounding beds and lawn are put back so the finished work sits naturally in the landscape.

Why materials and grading matter
The material you see, the pavers, the block, the flagstone, is only part of a hardscape project. Under it sits the part that decides whether the work lasts: the excavation, the compacted base, the grading that sends water away from the house, and the drainage that relieves the pressure behind a wall. In metro Atlanta, where heavy clay holds water and moves with the seasons, that hidden work is everything.
We choose materials to suit both the look you want and the job the surface has to do, and we grade and drain every project so water is carried away rather than allowed to pool, undermine a base, or push on a wall. Where a project sits on a slope or near a low spot, the hardscape and the drainage are designed together.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the base matter so much?
Almost every hardscape failure, a settling patio, a heaving walk, a leaning wall, traces back to the base and the drainage, not the surface. Georgia’s clay holds water and moves with it, so we excavate to the right depth, compact a proper aggregate base, and build in drainage. That hidden work is what makes the difference between hardscape that lasts decades and hardscape that fails in a few years.
Do retaining walls need drainage?
Yes, always. A wall holds back soil, and soil holds water. Without gravel backfill and a drain to relieve the pressure, water builds up behind a wall and eventually pushes it out. Proper drainage is built into every retaining wall we install.

Pavers give a uniform, engineered surface with crisp geometry and are easy to repair, since a single unit can be lifted and reset. Flagstone gives a natural, irregular look with the color and texture of real stone. It comes down to the style you want and how the surface will be used; we will walk through both for your project.
Can hardscape be designed with the rest of the landscape?
Yes, and it should be. Patios, walls, walkways, lighting, and planting read as one landscape when they are planned together. Because we design, build, and maintain, your hardscape is drawn into the whole plan rather than added on afterward.
